Próxima semana de comisiones: el 22 de febrero de 2010 en Bruselas.

Asuntos destacados

AFCO - EU accession to the European Convention of Human Rights
Ramón JÁUREGUI ATONDO (S&D, ES), rapporteur for EU accession to the European Convention of Human Rights, will present his draft report at the Committee on Constitutional Affairs meeting of 22.02.10.  The Committee held its first discussion on 25.01.10; has planned a hearing for the 17.03.10; and expects to vote on 07.04.10

EMPL - Working time of persons performing mobile road transport activities
The Committee on Employment and Social Affairs will consider the amendments to Ms Bauer's report on 22.02.10.  Following the second exchange of views on the report, the questions which need to be solved are how to identify the false self-employed, how the false self-employed could be checked and controlled and what are the positive and negatives aspects of the current legislation.  The deadline for amendments was 05.02.10.

CULT - Vote on "Europeana – the next steps"
The Committee on Culture and Education will adopt its report on Europeana - the EU's online library, museum and archive - on 22.02.10. The report was prepared by the Committee's first Vice-chair, Mrs. Helga Trüpel (GREENS). Europeana aims to make Europe's cultural and intellectual heritage accessible to all via internet. At present, Europeana is in its development phase and the Commission Communication on which the Committee's report is based sets out possible options for the project's future: the main questions concern content (what should Europeana contain?) and governance (how should it be run and who should pay for it?).

IMCO - Consumer Rights Directive: Hearing with National Parliaments
The Committee on Internal Market and Consumer Affairs  will hold a hearing with National Parliaments on the Consumer Rights Directive. Key questions in the debate are the appropriate level of consumer protection and the Commission's full harmonisation approach. The Rapporteur for this report is Andreas Schwab. The meeting will take place on 23.02.10 in ASP 3G2 from 10.00 - 12.30.

PECH - Hearing on aquaculture
A public hearing on "A sustainable future for European aquaculture" will be held on 23.02.10. Several guests have been invited to express their views about a sector which has experienced considerable growth. In a world where fishing resources are becoming scarce and where the world demand for fish and seafood products keeps growing, aquaculture is gaining more and more importance for the EU.
