Next REGI Meeting: 22 February 2010

The next meeting of the Committee on Regional Development will take place on Monday, 22 February from 15:00 to 18:30 in the meeting room ASP A3G3.

Consideration of the draft report by Evgeni Kirilov (S&D)

"General provisions on the European Regional Development Fund, the European Social Fund and the Cohesion Fund as regards simplification of certain requirements and as regards certain provisions relating to financial management" is a title of the legislative report prepared by Mr Kirilov. On 22 February the rapporteur will present to the REGI Committee his draft report including all the amendments tabled to the Commission proposal. The main changes aim at introducing an additional advance for 2010 as a means to assist Member States more hit by the economic crisis and at extending of one year the deadline for the calculation of de-commitment for budget commitments incurred in 2007. Further amendments concern the simplification of procedures ruling the Structural Funds. The vote on the report is scheduled on 17-18 March in the REGI Committee.

Exchange of views with the President of the European Investment Bank

Philippe Maystadt, President of the European Investment Bank will have an exchange of views with REGI Members on 22 February. Mr Maystadt will explain the activities of the EIB in relation to Regional and Cohesion Policy, in particular the Bank's role in fighting the economic downturn.

Комисията отговаря за:

регионалната политика и кохезионната политика, по-специално:

а) Европейския фонд за регионално развитие, Кохезионния фонд и другите инструменти на регионалната политика на Съюза,

б) оценката на въздействието на други политики на Съюза върху икономическото и социалното сближаване,

в) координацията на структурните инструменти на Съюза,

г) най-отдалечените региони и острови, както и трансграничното и междурегионално сътрудничество,

д) отношенията с Комитета на регионите, организациите за междурегионално сътрудничество и органите на местната и регионална власт.

На своето заседание от 14 декември 2006 г. Председателският съвет взе решение за включването на проблематиката на градовете сред изричните правомощия на комисията.
