Exchanges of views on passenger rights On 1 December, TRAN will hold two exchanges of views on passenger rights: when travelling by sea and inland waterways and when travelling by bus and coach. The two rapporteurs, Inés Ayala Sender and Antonio Cancian, will ask for a mandate to begin discussions with the Council.
Exchange of views on future of transport On 2 December TRAN will hold, in the presence of the Swedish Presidency, a first exchange of views on Mr Grosch's own-initiative report on a sustainable future of transport. The rapporteur expects to present his draft report to the Committee in February 2010.
Exchange of views on climate change The draftsperson, Dominique Vlasto, will present her draft opinion on adaptation to climate change for ENVI's own-initiative report on this subject. Following this discussion, TRAN will hold an exchange of views with the Commission on the impact of transport on climate change as part of the lead up to the Copenhagen Conference.
Role of the EU seaports in global maritime logistics On 2 December, the authors of a study on EU seaports will present their findings to the Committee. The study seeks to explain the impact of recent developments on EU seaports and puts forward a number of recommendations for Members to consider.

Présentation et compétences
Cette commission est compétente pour les questions ayant trait: 1. au développement d'une politique commune des transports par chemin de fer, par route et par voie navigable, ainsi que par voie maritime et aérienne, et notamment: a) aux règles communes applicables aux transports sur le territoire de l'Union européenne,
b) à l'établissement et au développement de réseaux transeuropéens dans le secteur des infrastructures de transport, c) à la fourniture de services de transports et aux relations avec les pays tiers dans le domaine des transports, d) à la sécurité des transports, e) aux relations avec les organisations internationales des transports; 2. aux services postaux; 3. au tourisme.
