Posting of workers  
Posting of workers in the framework of the provision of services

EMPL committee held a discussion on the draft compromise amendments at its previous meeting in May, which had been drafted in relation to the total 975 amendments. On the first day of the June meeting Members will examine the finalised compromise amendments and on the second meeting day the vote will take place on the draft report, and the numerous amendments.

Tackling youth unemployment: possible ways out

The committee held a public hearing on this topic at its March meeting and the Rapporteur Joanna Katarzyna Skrzydlewska (EPP, PL) presented her draft report to EMPL in April, when a deadline for amendments was set as well. 331 amendments were tabled to the original text, which will be the subject of the discussion at the committee meeting on 19 June. The debate is also expected to provide ideas for preparing compromise amendments on the points where different amendments were tabled.

Flag State responsibilities for the enforcement of Council Directive 2009/13/EC

During the next EMPL meeting Members will have an exchange of views and adopt the outcome of negotiations with the Council. EMPL committee adopted its legislative report in January 2013 and at the same time, based on the adopted text, gave a mandate to the negotiating team, led by the EMPL Chair Pervenche Berès (S&D, FR), who is also the Rapporteur of this file. Following this decision, the team started discussions with the Council in view of a possible agreement in first reading. Following a series of negotiating rounds, the Rapporteur will now present the text agreed during the discussions. Following the examination of this text, EMPL will proceed to the vote, so that the Plenary can vote on the Parliament's position in September.

Cross-border collective bargaining and transnational social dialogue

The discussion of the 144 amendments tabled to the draft report served as a starting point for the Rapporteur to propose compromise amendments, in order to ensure a broad political support for the report. On 19 June EMPL will first discuss these compromise amendments, and then proceed to the vote on the draft report, the amendments and also the suggestions of the opinion of FEMM.

Country-specific recommendations: yes to breathing space, no to austerity theory

The extra economic reform "breathing space" granted to enable EU countries to meet deficit-cutting requirements and boost growth was welcomed by MEPs in Monday's joint economic affairs and employment committee debate with Commissioners Olli Rehn and László Andor. MEPs also criticized the analysis and economic theories underlying austerity recommendations.

Social affairs committee rejects cut to fund for the EU's most deprived

The social affairs committee voted on Monday to reject the one billion euro cut to the Fund for European Aid to the Most Deprived proposed by the European Commission, and called for support for the EU's neediest citizens be kept at the 2007-2013 level of. 3.5 billion euros.

-  Европейската фондация за обучение,
-  Европейската агенция за безопасни и здравословни условия на труд,
-  както и отношенията с други съответни органи на ЕС и международни организации.

Нашата комисия разполага с компетенции основно в областите на трудовата заетост и всички аспекти на социалната политика, условията на работа, професионалното обучение и свободното движение на трудещите се и пенсионерите. По-долу е поместен и пълният списък на нашите компетенции.
 
Комисията се състои от 49 членове на ЕП и същият брой заместници, които представляват различните политически семейства в Европейския парламент. Всяка политическа група назначава ръководител (координатор), който да участва в организирането на работата на комисията.
 
Комисията по заетост и социални въпроси участва, заедно със Съвета и Европейската комисия, в прилагането на законодателната рамка в своите области на компетентност.
 
По време на настоящия парламентарен мандат нашата комисия смята да даде тласък на подготовката на новата Социална програма и да допринесе за насърчаването на едно по приобщаващо общество.
