Building capacities for resilience against terrorism within the EU

The public hearing of 22 March 2018 was dedicated to the topic of "Resilience".
TERR Members held an exchange of views with Mr Nicolas Hénin, a French journalist and writer, former ISIS hostage in Syria, and the President of the NGO "Action Resilience".
This debate was followed by a presentation on "Experience and Resilience: lessons learned - a Spanish perspective" held by Mr Fernando Reinares, a Professor of Political Sciences & Security Studies at the Juan Carlos University in Madrid and a specialist in terrorism.
The speakers will examine how to develop and foster civil society resilience against radicalisation and terrorism, while at the same time safeguarding public liberties and fundamental rights.
