Next meeting

The next meeting of the Committee on International Trade will take place on Monday 27 May (15.00-18.30) and on Tuesday 28 May (9.00-12.30 and 15.30-19.00) in rooms József Antall 2Q2 and Altiero Spinelli 1G-3 (28 May from 15.30-19.00), in Brussels.

Interim EPA with Cameroon

Trade MEPs will decide whether to recommend to the full Parliament to grant consent to the interim Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) with Cameroon. Its objectives include regional integration in the Central African region, with gradual trade liberalisation, supported by accompanying development cooperation measures. The EU is currently negotiating a full regional EPA with Central Africa.

Jointly with Steering committee - Update on recent developments at the WTO

What are the future challenges for trade? What is happening at the WTO? These questions will be addressed by WTO Deputy Director-General Rufus Yerxa in the first joint session ever between INTA and the Steering Committee of the Parliamentary Conference on the WTO, the board of  the de facto parliamentary dimension of the WTO, with parliamentarians from 22 countries. His briefing will be followed by a discussion on the recently published report by Lamy's expert panel "The Future of Trade: The Challenges of Convergence".

INTA discusses 2013-2014 Work Programme with Commissioner De Gucht

INTA will have an exchange of views with Commissioner Karel De Gucht assessing the achievements of the legislature and the Commission's mandate so far. Has Parliament been able to use wisely its enhanced legislative powers in the Union's trade policy, and how has this influenced in the interinstitutional power balance? Has Parliament been able to give more clout and legitimacy to this crucial policy area?

Opening of negotiations on a Plurilateral Agreement on Services

The Committee will vote during its next meeting on a resolution setting its expectations for the recently-launched negotiations, to which the EU participates, for a plurilateral agreement on trade in services. This agreement has the potential for increasing services trade between the EU and all its developed trading partners and for lowering regulatory barriers to services trade and investment. But it might also represent a "foe" to the WTO's General Agreement on Trade in Services.

Tougher rules to prevent chemicals being diverted to illegal drug production

New rules to ensure that chemicals used in industrial processes, such as manufacturing plastics, textiles, aspirin, flu and allergy remedies, dyes and perfumes, are not diverted to the illegal production of heroin, speed or crack were adopted by the Civil Liberties Committee on Wednesday and by the International Trade Committee on Thursday.

Trade MEPs urge Council to launch trade and investment talks with US
INTA 25-04-2013 - 15:30  

The EU Council of Ministers should authorize the start of Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) talks with the US in June, say International Trade Committee MEPs in a resolution voted on Thursday. The negotiating mandate should include public procurement and financial services, but exclude culture, they add.

Комисията отговаря за:
въпросите, свързани с установяването и прилагането на общата търговска политика на Съюза и неговите външноикономически отношения, по-специално:
1.    финансовите, икономическите и търговските отношения с трети страни и регионални организации;
2.    мерките за техническа хармонизация или стандартизация в областите, уредени с международноправни актове;
3.    отношенията със съответните международни организации и с организациите, насърчаващи регионалната икономическа и търговска интеграция извън Съюза;
4.    отношенията със Световната търговска организация, включително нейното парламентарно измерение.
 
Комисията поддържа връзки със съответните междупарламентарни и ad hoc делегации компетентни в областта на икономическите и търговските аспекти на отношенията с трети страни.

Уважаеми посетители,
 
Добре дошли на уебстраницата на комисията по международна търговия (INTA).
Тук ще намерите програмите и работните документи на комисията. На ваше разположение са също бюлетините на комисията INTA, включително подробности относно текущи доклади, изслушвания и др.
 
С приемането на Договора от Лисабон Европейският парламент започна да играе решаваща роля в определянето на политиките на Съюза, като това обхваща въпроси на международната търговия със стоки и услуги, а също така и търговски аспекти на интелектуалната собственост и преките чуждестранни инвестиции. Понастоящем законодателството в областта на търговията и международните споразумения за търговия могат да бъдат реализирани единствено със съгласието на Европейския парламент, който представлява гражданите на Европейския съюз.  
 
Уверен съм, че тази страница ще служи като ефикасен инструмент за изследвания и че тя ще позволи на европейските граждани да придобият по-добри познания за дейността и начина на функциониране на комисията INTA, както и за търговската политика на Съюза в общ план.
