Hearing on the Reform of the Brussels II Regulation

The Committee held this public hearing on 12 October, from 15.00 to 17.00. MEP Mairead McGuinness, European Parliament Mediator for International Parental Child Abduction, considered improving the resolution of child abduction proceedings under the Brussels II Regulation and other invited experts deliberated on modernising the provisions on divorce in Brussels IIa, addressing enforcement issues following parental responsibility decisions and the Commission's plans for the review.
