On 26 February, AFCO organised, jointly with PETI, a hearing on the "Lessons to be drawn from the implementation of the European Citizens' Initiative (ECI) regulation". This hearing gave the opportunity to evaluate all aspects linked to the functioning of the ECI, giving the floor to ECI organizers.

Velkommen til Udvalget om Konstitutionelle Anliggenders webside.

I valgperioden 2014-2019 vil der blive fokuseret på de institutionelle aspekter, der er bestemmende for EU's fremtid. Vi vil fortsætte med at evaluere gennemførelsen af de fornyelser, der blev indført med Lissabontraktaten, og bruge denne vurdering som basis for nye udviklingstendenser. Evalueringen af de foranstaltninger, der blev iværksat efter krisen i 2008, vil også føre til overvejelser af, om det er nødvendigt med en ny reform af traktaten. Der skulle være to formål med en sådan reform, nemlig at integrere bestemmelserne i den mellemstatslige traktat om stabilitet, samordning og styring i Den Økonomiske og Monetære Union i EU's retsregler, hvilket måske vil kræve traktatændringer, og at give den økonomiske styring af euroområdet demokratisk legitimitet. En vigtig udfordring vil det være at sikre, at en stærkere integration af euroområdet ikke underminerer EU's integritet.
