Landing obligation is a long-standing policy goal of the EU Common Fisheries Policy that requires fishers to bring all catch ashore eliminating discards at sea. The policy has been phased in gradually over the years and is fully implemented starting this year, 2019. The speakers’ profiles combine first-hand industry expertise with scientific analysis. Parties to the Paris Agreement are invited to communicate, by 2020, their mid-century, long-term low GHG emission development strategies. The Energy Governance Union Regulation also provides that the Commission adopts a proposal for a Union long-term strategy for greenhouse gas emissions reduction in accordance with the Paris Agreement which includes a scenario on achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions within the Union by 2050 and negative emissions thereafter. On 29th of January, from 14.30 to 17.30, the TAX3 committee will hold a public hearing on “Money laundering cases involving Russian individuals and their effect on the EU”. Two panels combining experts including among others Mr Bill Browder will shed light on the complex cases of money laundering recently discovered. These cases have affected banks and finance corporations across the EU and evidence shows linkages with organized crime, such as demonstrated in the murder of Mr Magnitsky. (Læs mere)
