Equality between Women and Men 2010-2015 – 1.12.2014

The study on "Evaluation of the Strategy for Equality between Women and Men 2010-2015 as a contribution to achieve the goals of the Beijing Platform for Action" examines the coherence, implementation and concrete effectiveness of previous and current strategies for gender equality in the EU and its Member States, in order to promote the achievement of the Beijing Platform's targets.  It provides a contribution to the drafting and adoption of the post-2015 EU Strategy for Equality between Women and Men and of the related FEMM report currently being drafted (Maria Noichl Report).

Situation of Women in the Gulf States - 1.12.2014

The Study on the "Situation of Women in the Gulf States" examines women's rights and gender equality across the area of the Gulf and focuses on eight case studies (Bahrain, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates). A series of recommendations are addressed to EU institutions, suggesting how EU policies and instruments could be developed to support women’s rights and enhance gender equality in the Gulf States and in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

LIBE/FEMM– 2012-2016 EU Strategy towards the eradication of THB 2.12.2014

During a joint meeting, the EU Anti-Trafficking Coordinator Myria Vassiliadou will have the opportunity to outline to members of LIBE and FEMM the latest policy developments on trafficking in human beings at EU level.  The debate will focus on the related Package that was issued by the Commission in order to mark the 8th EU Anti-trafficking day of 18 October, in particular the mid-term report of the 2012-2016 EU strategy. This point will be followed by a presentation of the Global Report on Trafficking in Persons 2014  of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime by Kristiina Kangaspunta (UNODC).
