The European Parliament should grant its consent to the EU-Georgia Association Agreement in December, the Foreign Affairs Committee said in a vote on Monday. The deal, signed on 27 June 2014, aims to establish deep political association and economic integration between the EU and Georgia, leading to the progressive opening up of their markets. It includes a Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement.
Foreign Affairs Committee MEPs will meet Ukraine’s foreign minister Pavlo Klimkin at 15.00 in Brussels today to discuss developments in Ukraine following the recent legislative elections there and amidst the lasting crisis in the east of the country. The meeting takes place in room József Antall 2Q2.

Foreign Affairs Committee MEPs will debate the deadly conflict with the “Islamic State” (IS) and the need for political reconciliation in Iraq with Masrour Barzani, Head of the National Security Council of Iraqi Kurds, on Tuesday. The debate, set to start at 10:15, follows September’s plenary debates on Kobane and the European IS fighters.
