Welcome Words

Dear visitor,

I would like to welcome you to the homepage of the "Special Committee on Policy Challenges and Budgetary Resources for a Sustainable European Union after 2013" or the SURE Committee for short.

Our Committee was established in July 2010 and has been given a one year mandate to define the European Parliament's political priorities for the new post-2013 multiannual financial framework, both in legislative and budgetary terms and to submit guidelines for the resources necessary for the Union to implement these priorities.

Fifty permanent Members and fifty substitute Members, representing all political groups of the European Parliament and the majority of the specialised committees are devotedly working towards the achievement of these challenging tasks.

I am pleased to invite you to follow our work on these pages.

Sincerely,

Jutta Haug
The Chairwoman
