Reports

Once a draft report has been presented to the committee, members are given the chance to propose amendments before a certain deadline. The amendments will then be discussed and voted upon in the committee. Once a draft report has been amended and a final vote taken, it becomes a report and will then be presented in the plenary session. This page shows the reports as finalised in committee.

Welcome to the webpage of the Constitutional Affairs' Committee (AFCO)

On these pages you will find up-to-date information on the activities of our Committee as well as documents that have been discussed earlier.

The Constitutional Affairs Committee deals with the development of the European Treaties and their implementation; with relations between the different European institutions and between the European Parliament and national parliaments; with European political parties; and Parliament's own Rules of Procedure.

During this legislature, 2009-2014, the Committee has many important tasks in relation to implementing the Treaty of Lisbon - especially regarding the parts which aim to bring the Union closer to its citizens.

In addition to its monthly ordinary and occasional extraordinary meetings, the Committee organises public hearings or workshops on specific subjects. We can also commission studies, when our Members want more detailed information on a particular item. You'll find information on all of this on these pages.

The list of our Members can be found on this page as well as the contact address for the secretariat. If you have any specific questions concerning the work of our Committee, feel free to contact us.
