Highlights
The Committee on Culture and Education (CULT) discussed the main findings of the study on "Public financing of news media in the EU" on 9 April. The discussion focused on the different types of public financing schemes available for news media across the EU.
On 9 April, the Committee on Culture and Education (CULT) hosted the Commissioner for innovation, research, culture, education and youth, Ms Iliana Ivanova, who presented the "Commission Communication on a blueprint towards a European degree". The discussion also covered two accompanying Council Recommendations, on a European Quality Assurance and Recognition System in Higher Education and on attractive and sustainable careers in higher education.
To show its continuous effort to empower and amplify youth voices, the Committee on Culture and Education dedicated the last 3 hours of its Committee meeting on 9 April to the ground-breaking initiative #Engaged4YOUth. Standing rapporteurs discussed with young people the main achievements in the 9th legislature on all areas of CULT competence.
