Hearings


A committee is permitted to organise a hearing with experts, where this is considered essential to its work on a particular subject. Hearings can also be held jointly by two or more committees. Most committees organise regular hearings, as they allow them to hear from experts and hold discussions on the key issues. Off-shoring used to be a frequently used term throughout the EU - with company after company shifting its production and services to lower cost countries. But now there are signs that the opposite is happening as businesses bring back production and services to Europe, in a process some are calling "re-shoring".
