A committee is permitted to organise a hearing with experts, where this is considered essential to its work on a particular subject. Hearings can also be held jointly by two or more committees. Most committees organise regular hearings, as they allow them to hear from experts and hold discussions on the key issues. On this page you will find all the available information relating to committee hearings, including programmes and contributions from speakers.

20-06-2017 - Hearing on mobbing and sexual harassment

FEMM 23-06-2017 - 11:47

The Committee on Women's Rights and Gender Equality organised a hearing on "Measures to prevent and combat mobbing and sexual harassment at workplace, in public spaces, and political life in the EU".

The hearing served as an opportunity to provide input for the own initiative report on the same topic, on which the Committee will work in 2018 (Rapporteur: Pina Picierno, S&D, Italy). The invited experts shared their views and propose practical solutions for counteracting mobbing and sexual harassment. The hearing counted on the presence of Brigitte Filion (Programme Officer, Inter Parliamentary Union (IPU)), Irene Zeilinger (Executive Director, Garance ASBL), Fabrizia Giuliani (Member of the Chamber of Deputies, Italy), Cinzia Sechi (Advisor, European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC)), Rossana Dinamarca (Member of Parliament, Sweden).
