Digitalisation in transport

The hearing seeks to understand better the impact of digitalisation in transports. In particular, the Committee on Transport and Tourism has recognised that digitalisation must continue being one of the top priorities for the transport sector in order to foster its attractiveness and ensure its strong economic position in Europe and vis-à-vis third countries.

A strong message from the European Parliament would aid to stimulate and expedite the Commission's processes and would be an important driving force to encourage reluctant Member States to acknowledge the benefits of the digital age and the need to support harmonisation in digital solutions. The hearing will be held on Wednesday 20 June 2018, from 10h15 to 11h45, in the European Parliament in Brussels, room JAN 4Q1, and will be webstreamed.
