Welcome words

Dear Visitor,

Welcome to the website of the Committee on International Trade (INTA).
Here you will find the agendas and working documents of the Committee. INTA newsletters, including details on ongoing reports, hearings, etc., are also available here.

Since the implementation of the Lisbon Treaty, the EP has a decisive role to play in the definition of the Union's trade policy, covering matters of international trade in goods, services and commercial aspects of intellectual property, and Foreign Direct Investment. Now, trade legislation and international trade agreements can only be implemented with the agreement of the EP, representing European citizens.

I trust that this website will serve as an efficient research tool and that it will allow European citizens to achieve a better understanding of INTA's work and proceedings, as well as of the Union's trade policy in general.

Thank you for your visit. Should you have any further questions about the Committee's work please contact the Secretariat.
