Work in progress

The Work in Progress shows the legislative procedures currently in progress in each committee. Each entry indicates the type and stage of the procedure, the name of the rapporteur, and whether the committee has been called upon as the responsible committee or just to give its opinion. Entries also contain a link to the Legislative Observatory, which shows the entire detail of the procedure, including any relevant documents. Once a procedure has finished at the committee stage it will be voted on in the Plenary session and will then be deemed to be completed.

Welcome words

Welcome to the website of the Committee on International Trade (INTA).

You will find the agendas and working documents of the Committee here, as well as additional information such as INTA newsletters, details on on-going reports and hearings.

Since the implementation of the Lisbon Treaty, the EP has a decisive role to play in the definition of the Union's trade policy and acts as its democratic conscience. This is of particular importance since trade legislation and international trade agreements can only be implemented with the agreement of the EP.

I trust that this website will serve as an efficient information source and research tool that allows European citizens to achieve a better understanding of INTA's work and proceedings, as well as of the Union's trade policy in general.

Thank you for your visit. Should you have any further questions about the Committee's work please contact the Secretariat.
