On 9 July 2018, the Committee on Legal Affairs held a public hearing on “Expedited settlement of commercial disputes in the EU” (16.30-17.30). The Members discussed with experts the following question in preparations for the report 2018/2079 (INL) Expedited settlement of commercial disputes with Mr Tadeusz Zwiefka as rapporteur:

Is the concentration of choice of applicable law in commercial contracts to some jurisdictions to the benefit or detriment of the expedited settlement of commercial disputes in the EU? What eventual modifications could be made to EU law to address any issues?
