On 23 and 24 February 2015 in room József Antall (JAN) 6Q2, LIBE Committee together with the Directorate for Relations with National Parliaments held an Interparliamentary Committee meeting on the Smart Borders Package: European challenges, national experiences, the way ahead.

The meeting was intended to serve as a forum for an exchange of views and information among national and European parliamentarians on the Commission's legislative proposals on the Entry/ExitSystem (COM(2013)95) and the Registered Traveller Programme (COM(2013)97). The input of national parliaments is sought against the background of very diverging national situations (as regards their geographical location, the types of borders, the travel flows etc.) and experiences (as regards, for example, the use of national entry/exit systems or types of registered traveller programmes).
