Next TRAN meeting

The next TRAN meeting will take place on Tuesday 22 July from 11:00 to 18:30 in Brussels in JAN 6Q2 (József Antall building). The meeting will be webstreamed.

Presentation by Vice-President Kallas

The Commissioner for Mobility and Transport, Mr Siim Kallas, will welcome the new Members and present the Commission's priority files for the coming months in the next TRAN Committee meeting on 22.07.14.

Budget 2015

The Rapporteur's priorities for the 2015 budget include the smooth running of CEF and TEN-T programmes, with investments focused on projects with high European added value; financial support for the creation and effective functioning of a Single European railway area; the NAIDAES programme; and research funding, including SESAR. 
 
Mr Roberts Zīle will present his draft opinion in the next TRAN Committee meeting on 22.07.14.

   
Selection decisions following the 2013 TEN-T Call for Proposals (2007-2013)

The TEN-T Calls for Proposals (Multi-Annual and Annual) make €350 million available to finance European transport infrastructure projects in all transport modes – air, rail, road, and maritime/ inland waterways – plus logistics and intelligent transport systems, and all EU Member States
 
The Commission will present the selection decisions following the 2013 TEN-T call for proposals in the next TRAN Committee meeting on 22.07.14

   
Michael Cramer elected chair of the TRAN Committee

Michael Cramer (Greens/EFA, DE) is the new chair of the TRAN Committee, elected by acclamation on 07.07.14. During its constituent meeting, the Committee has also elected its vice-chairs Dominique Riquet (ALDE, FR), Dieter-Lebrecht Koch (EPP, DE), Tomasz Piotr Poręba (ECR, PL), and István Ujhelyi (S&D, HU). Together, the chair and vice-chairs make up the bureau of the Committee, elected for a two-and-a-half year term.
 
The first meeting of the TRAN Committee will take place on 22.07.14.

After the election of a President, Vice-Presidents and Quaestors of the European Parliament in Strasbourg last week, parliamentary committees convened on Monday in Brussels to elect chairpersons and their deputies for next two and a half years.

Comisión competente para:
 
1. el desarrollo de una política común para los transportes por ferrocarril, por carretera, por vía navegable, así como para el transporte marítimo y aéreo, en particular:
 
a) las normas comunes aplicables a los transportes dentro de la Unión Europea,
b) el establecimiento y el desarrollo de redes transeuropeas en el sector de las infraestructuras de transporte,
c) la prestación de servicios de transporte y las relaciones en el ámbito del transporte con países terceros,
d) la seguridad en el transporte,
e) las relaciones con los órganos y las organizaciones internacionales de transportes,
f) la Agencia Europea de Seguridad Marítima, la Agencia Ferroviaria Europea, la Agencia Europea de Seguridad Aérea y la Empresa Común SESAR;
 
2. los servicios postales;
 
3. el turismo.
