Exchange of views on the Fourth Railway Package

The TRAN Committee will hold an exchange of views on the 4th Railway Package, which seeks to deliver better quality and more choice in European railway services.
 
The event will take place in JAN 6Q2 in two parts:
  • 29 May from 11:00-12:30: interoperability, safety and railway agency
  • 30 May from 10:45-12:30: opening domestic passenger market and governance

Air Passenger Rights Regulation

Europe's success in securing and upholding passenger rights is one of the resounding achievements of EU transport policy. The proposal clarifies key aspects of EU law and introduces new passenger rights where necessary.
 
An exchange of views with stakeholders will take place in the next TRAN meeting on 29.05.13 from 15:00-17:00 in JAN 6Q2.

Marine equipment is critical for the safety of ships as well as for the prevention of maritime accidents and pollution of the environment. The proposal aims to simplify the regulatory environment, thereby reducing costs for business and ensuring better application.

Blue growth is a long-term strategy which aims to identify and tackle economic, environmental and social challenges, which  affect all sectors of the EU's maritime economy.

Smart tachographs for road safety and fair competition in road transport

Specifications for a new generation of digital tachographs for trucks and buses were agreed informally by Irish presidency and Parliament negotiators on Tuesday. Innovations include devices that can read on-board recording devices from a distance, will make it easier to enforce driving and rest times.

Liberalising rail services: balancing competition and quality of service

The need to agree on how to separate track from train operators and to balance growth, quality of service and working conditions were the main points raised by transport and tourism MEPs and experts at a hearing on the 4th railway package on Tuesday. Uniform rules on safety certification and interoperability will be key to creating a single EU rail area, MEPs agreed.

2.    los servicios postales;
 
3.    el turismo.

Bienvenidos a la página web de la Comisión de Transportes y Turismo. Aquí encontrará información sobre nuestra comisión, los miembros que la componen y la labor que realizamos. Tengo el honor de presidir una de las comisiones más activas e importantes del Parlamento Europeo.
 
La nuestra es una comisión que elabora legislación en el marco del procedimiento de codecisión y cuenta con largos años de experiencia en el trabajo con los Estados miembros, pudiendo formular en igualdad de condiciones tanto legislación en materia de transportes, como política sobre turismo o medidas sobre servicios postales.
 
El transporte constituye una parte bien establecida de la vida diaria y reviste importancia no solo para suministrar bienes y servicios a la industria y al comercio, sino también para desplazar a las personas de su casa al trabajo, al colegio o al lugar de unas merecidas vacaciones. Sin transporte, la sociedad se paralizaría, el comercio se hundiría y perderíamos esa interconexión vital. Todos necesitamos del transporte en nuestra vida cotidiana. Nuestra comisión reconoció estos hechos hace tiempo y trabaja para garantizar que, dentro de la Unión Europea, se desarrolle plenamente el potencial del transporte, no solo desde una perspectiva de sostenibilidad económica y social, sino también, y con igual importancia, de sostenibilidad medioambiental.
 
Estamos convencidos de que, sea cual sea el medio utilizado, el transporte aporta un valor añadido a la sociedad y todas las personas deben tener acceso al mismo.
