Don’t incite fear and hatred of migrants and refugees, MEPs urge EU countries

EU member states should “refrain from inciting fear and hatred in their citizens towards migrants and asylum-seekers for political gains”, said Civil Liberties Committee MEPs voting a resolution on fundamental rights in the EU on Thursday. En mi calidad de presidente de la Comisión de Libertades Civiles, Justicia y Asuntos de Interior (LIBE), me complace darle la bienvenida a esta página.

La Comisión LIBE es competente para la gran mayoría de la legislación y para el control democrático de las políticas en materia de justicia y asuntos de interior, garantizando de esta forma el pleno respeto en la UE de la Carta de los Derechos Fundamentales y del Convenio Europeo de Derechos Humanos, así como el fortalecimiento de la ciudadanía europea.
