Economic losses of transport companies because of strengthened border checks

The TRAN Committee will hold a hearing with experts on ways in which recent strengthened border checks have affected the industry. The hearing will consist of one panel with 5 experts from the following organisations: France Stratégie,Transport & Mobility Leuven,International RoadTransport Union (IRU), European Transport Workers’ Federation (ETF) and the European Commission.
The hearing will take place on Tuesday 28 February from 15:00-17:00 in Altiero Spinelli A1-G3 and will be webstreamed.
The five draft opinions to the CONT Committee reports cover the Discharges of the European Commission and the four Agencies: EASA, ERA, EMSA, SESAR for the year 2015.

The TRAN Committee will vote on the opinion to IMCO on Tuesday 28 February from 09:00 in Altiero Spinelli A1-G3. In terms of transport, the Directive on accessibility requirements for products and services focuses on non-discrimination and the provision of assistance for persons with reduced mobility when using transport especially on the Passenger Rights Regulations for all modes of transport.
Mr Pawel Wojciechowski, Mr Laurens-Jan Brinkhorst and Mr Matthieu Grosch will give presentations on “Extending cooperation with third countries and unblocking cross-border problems”. These will be followed by a question and answer session with Members.
The discussion will be held on Tuesday 28 February from 11:00-12:30 in Altiero Spinelli A1-G3.
