Tervetuloa talousarvion valvontavaliokunnan verkkosivuille, joiden tarkoituksena on antaa kansalaisille mahdollisuus seurata valiokunnan työtä.
 
Talousarvion valvontavaliokunta valvoo EU:n talousarviovarojen käyttöä, tavoitteiden saavuttamista ja ohjelmien kustannustehokkuutta. Se varmistaa myös, että Euroopan veromaksajien varoja käytetään tehokkaasti ja EU:n lainsäädännön mukaisesti. Valiokunta toimii läheisessä yhteistyössä tilintarkastustuomioistuimen kanssa ja ehdottaa tilintarkastustuomioistuimen tarkastustulosten perusteella parannuksia moitteettoman varainkäytön varmistamiseksi.
 
EU:n talousarvioon liittyvien petosten ja korruption torjunnassa talousarvion valvontavaliokunta toimii yhteistyössä Euroopan petostentorjuntaviraston (OLAF) kanssa.
 
Talousarvion valvontavaliokunnan tärkein valvontakeino on "vastuuvapausmenettely". Menettelyn aikana valiokunta tarkastelee, kuinka eri toimijat kuten komissio, parlamentti ja muut toimielimet ja virastot huolehtivat EU:n talousarvion täytäntöönpanosta.
 
Talousarvion valvontavaliokunnan mietintöihin tutustumalla saat selville, kuinka valiokunta soveltaa teoriaa käytännössä. Voit myös seurata suoria lähetyksiä valiokunnan kokouksista ja hakea tämän sivun linkkien avulla tarkempaa tietoa sen toiminnasta.
