Establishment of a European Platform to enhance cooperation in the prevention and deterrence of undeclared work

During the meeting on 22 January Members held an exchange of views on the 395 amendments submitted in addition to the 71 amendments in the draft report. It was underlined the overall support for the establishment of the Platform. The adoption is expected on 26 February.

On 22 January the Rapporteur Elisabeth Morin-Chartier (EPP-FR) presented her draft report, emphasizing the respect of the agreement reached between the social partners. The vote in EMPL is scheduled for 1 April 2015. Procedure 2013/0390(COD).

European network of Employment Services, workers' access to mobility services and the further integration of labour markets (EURES)

The EMPL Committee held an exchange of views on the draft report of Heinz Becker (EPP, AT) on the legislative proposal for a EURES Regulation (2014/0002(COD)). The Commission proposal aims to enhance access of workers to intra-EU labour mobility support services, thus supporting fair mobility and increasing access to employment opportunities throughout the Union.

On 22 January the Latvian Minister of Welfare, Uldis Augulis, presented the priorities and programme of the Latvian Presidency in the field of employment and social policy. The presentation was followed by an exchange of views on specific issues belonging to the areas for which EMPL is responsible.
