On 23 June, Members had an exchange of views with Vice-President Dombrovskis and Commissioners Thyssen and Moscovici on Country Specific Recommendations on the 2015 European Semester of economic policy coordination. These recommendations provide tailored advice to Member States on how to boost jobs and growth, while maintaining sound public finances

The draft report of Heinz K. Becker (EPP, AT) on the "European network of Employment Services, workers' access to mobility services and the further integration of labour markets" has been adopted by 44 votes against 5 with 5 abstentions. The Rapporteur proposed 44 amendments to the legislative proposal in his draft and Members tabled 655 additional amendments. The aim of this report is to enhance access of workers to intra-EU labour mobility support services, thus supporting fair mobility and increasing access to employment opportunities throughout the Union. Employment Conditions in the International Road Haulage Sector

The market integration and internationalisation of the road transport sector has implications for the social protection of its workers. This Policy Department A study aims to provide the EMPL Committee with information about trends in the employment conditions of drivers in this sector. In particular, it aims to review whether the current regulatory framework is achieving the desired balance between market integration and social protection of workers, and what steps can be taken to ensure this balance in the future.

European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions

On 18-19 June EMPL Members visited the European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions (EUROFOUND) in Dublin, Ireland. The main topics were access to social protection benefits; new challenges for regulating work; taking stock on undeclared work; labour market participation and a presentation of the Eurofound Monitoring Tools.

Revision of the Europe 2020 Strategy

This public hearing was organised on 15 June as a follow-up to the European Parliament resolution of 25 November 2014 on the employment and social aspects of the Europe 2020 strategy which was prepared in the EMPL and should feed into the Commission's public consultation on Europe 2020. Six experts had been invited and the presentations were followed by an exchange of views with Members.

Country-specific recommendations need national owners and social partners

The EU’s country-specific recommendations (CSRs) on economic policy should aim more at boosting growth and jobs and EU countries should feel that they “own” them. Moreover, the social partners must be involved in the process too, said MEPs in Tuesday’s debate with Commission Vice-President Valdis Dombrovskis and Commissioners Marianne Thyssen and Pierre Moscovici. The event was jointly organised by the Economic and Monetary Affairs and Employment and Social Affairs committees. (Tovább)

Üdvözlöm a Foglalkoztatási és Szociális Bizottság (EMPL) honlapján, melynek elnöki teendőit én látom el.
