Exchange of views on the Fourth Railway Package

The TRAN Committee will hold an exchange of views on the 4th Railway Package, which seeks to deliver better quality and more choice in European railway services.
 
The event will take place in JAN 6Q2 in two parts:
  • 29 May from 11:00-12:30: interoperability, safety and railway agency
  • 30 May from 10:45-12:30: opening domestic passenger market and governance

Air Passenger Rights Regulation

Europe's success in securing and upholding passenger rights is one of the resounding achievements of EU transport policy. The proposal clarifies key aspects of EU law and introduces new passenger rights where necessary.
 
An exchange of views with stakeholders will take place in the next TRAN meeting on 29.05.13 from 15:00-17:00 in JAN 6Q2.

Marine Equipment Directive

Marine equipment is critical for the safety of ships as well as for the prevention of maritime accidents and pollution of the environment. The proposal aims to simplify the regulatory environment, thereby reducing costs for business and ensuring better application.
 
The Rapporteur will present his draft report in the next TRAN meeting on 29.05.13.

Blue Growth

Blue growth is a long-term strategy which aims to identify and tackle economic, environmental and social challenges, which  affect all sectors of the EU's maritime economy.
 
There will be a consideration of amendments on 29.05.13 followed by a vote the next day.

Smart tachographs for road safety and fair competition in road transport

Specifications for a new generation of digital tachographs for trucks and buses were agreed informally by Irish presidency and Parliament negotiators on Tuesday. Innovations include devices that can read on-board recording devices from a distance, will make it easier to enforce driving and rest times.

Liberalising rail services: balancing competition and quality of service

The need to agree on how to separate track from train operators and to balance growth, quality of service and working conditions were the main points raised by transport and tourism MEPs and experts at a hearing on the 4th railway package on Tuesday. Uniform rules on safety certification and interoperability will be key to creating a single EU rail area, MEPs agreed.

(c)    la fornitura di servizi di trasporto e le relazioni con i paesi terzi nel settore dei trasporti,
(d)    la sicurezza dei trasporti,
(e)    le relazioni con le organizzazioni internazionali dei trasporti;
 
2.    i servizi postali;
 
3.    il turismo.

Benvenuto al sito web della commissione per i trasporti e il turismo, dove troverà informazioni sulla nostra commissione, sui deputati che la compongono e sull'attività che svolgiamo. Ho l'onore di presiedere una delle commissioni più impegnate e importanti del Parlamento europeo.
 
La nostra commissione, che svolge attività legislativa nell'ambito della procedura di codecisione e ha molti anni di esperienza nella collaborazione con gli Stati membri, formula, su un piano di parità, normative sui trasporti, politiche per il turismo e politiche relative ai servizi postali.
 
I trasporti sono una parte essenziale della vita di tutti i giorni e sono importanti non solo per la fornitura di merci e servizi all'industria e al commercio ma anche perché consentono alle persone di recarsi a scuola o al lavoro o di fare una meritata vacanza. Senza i trasporti la società si ferma, gli scambi crollano e vanno perdute interconnessioni fondamentali. Tutti noi abbiamo bisogno dei trasporti nella vita quotidiana. La mia commissione, da tempo consapevole di tale realtà, opera per garantire, nel quadro dell'Unione europea, la realizzazione del pieno potenziale dei trasporti, non solo ai fini della sostenibilità economica e sociale ma anche, cosa altrettanto importante, ai fini della sostenibilità ambientale.
 
Siamo convinti che i trasporti, indipendentemente dal modo scelto, apportino un valore aggiunto alla società e che tutti dovrebbero avere la possibilità di utilizzarli.
