INTA Plenary votes: investment policy; trade relations with US and Myanmar/Burma

The Chamber will discuss investment policy legislation and trade preferences for Myanmar/Burma on 22.05.13. Voting is scheduled on the following day, together with the vote on a resolution giving the European Parliament's position on the draft mandate for the upcoming negotiations on the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership Agreement.

AGRI Structured Dialogue with Commissioner Ciolos

Agriculture Commissioner Dacian Ciolos will speak in the Committee for Agriculture as part of the "structured dialogue" between the Commission and the Parliament. This will be an opportunity for Members to get the Commissioner's views on the progress made in the CAP reform talks as well as on other issues such as financial discipline. The meeting will take place on 29.05.13 in Brussels.

Harmonisation of the laws of the Member States: pyrotechnic articles on the market  
IMCO Plenary vote on pyrotechnic articles

Parliament will vote on the legislative report on pyrotechnic articles during its plenary sitting of 22.05.13. This proposal is part of the New Legislative Framework Alignment Package for goods which includes nine directives. The vote in plenary will take place following negotiations with Council, aiming to avoiding a legal vacuum concerning airbags and seat belt pre-tensioners.

Pensions  
EMPL Adequate, safe and sustainable pensions – plenary debate and vote

The European Parliament will discuss on 20.05.13 and vote the following day on the non-legislative report of Ms Ria OOMEN-RUIJTEN (EPP, NL) on adequate, safe and sustainable pensions at its May Plenary session. The report was prepared in response to the Commission communication on the same subject and calls for a number of measures related to retirement policies and pension schemes.

DEVE CONT ECON Tax fraud, tax evasion and tax havens: plenary debate and vote

Ahead of the European Council discussing measures to fight tax evasion, the European Parliament will discuss and vote on a non-legislative report on the same topic during its plenary sitting of 21.05.13.
