Il-Kumitat ENVI, magħmul minn 69 membru, huwa l-akbar kumitat leġiżlattiv fil-Parlament Ewropew.

Il-Membri tal-ENVI huma f'ħidma attiva biex itejbu l-informazzjoni dwar l-ikel lill-konsumaturi, l-aktar permezz tar-regolamentazzjoni tat-tikkettar u t-tqegħid tal-prodotti fis-suq. L-ENVI huwa impenjat li joffri soluzzjonijiet Ewropej għall-kwistjonijiet tas-saħħa pubblika.

Huwa wkoll responsabbli għal medda wiesgħa ta' oqsma tal-politika fosthom it-tniġġis tal-arja u tal-ilma, l-immaniġġjar tal-iskart, jew il-ħarsien tal-bijodiversità, biex insemmu xi wħud. Il-Membri huma ddedikati li jippromwovu Ewropa effiċjenti u sostenibbli fl-użu tar-riżorsi.

Il-ġlieda kontra t-tibdil tal-klima hija fil-qalba tax-xogħol tal-Kumitat. Din se tkun minn ta' quddiem fuq l-aġenda kmieni f'din il-leġiżlatura, bil-ħsieb tas-samits li ġejjin dwar il-klima, li se jkunu kritiċi għall-adozzjoni ta' ftehim internazzjonali dwar il-klima, li huwa mistenni għall-2015. It-tkabbir ta' OĠMs u r-restrizzjoni jew il-projbizzjoni possibbli tagħhom fl-Istati Membri se jkun qasam ieħor ta' fokus fil-bidu ta' din il-leġiżlatura parlamentari.
