Good governance and the implementation of SDG 16

On Tuesday, 29 November, the Committee on Development held a public hearing to explore how EU development cooperation and policies can contribute to attaining Sustainable Development Goal 16 (peace, justice, rule of law, inclusive and accountable institutions).
Representatives of the UN, the European Commission and the External Action Service, the think-tank Overseas Development Institute (ODI), and the NGOs Saferworld and Oxfam particularly focussed on governance and institutions.
