On 20.01, AFCO organised a dialogue with young people in the context of the Europen Youth Event (EYE). These "EYE speed-hearings" allowed an exchange between MEPs and a small number of EYE2014 participants, based on the ideas contained in the final report of the event.

On 20.01, AFCO exchanged with Mr Sandro Gozi, Italian Secretary of State to the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, on the results of the Italian EU Council Presidency with particular focus on the conclusions of the group of "Friends of the Presidency" and Ms Zanda Kalniņa-Lukaševica, Parliamentary Secretary of the Latvian Foreign Ministry, presented the Latvian Council Presidency's programme.

Bem-vindo ao sítio web da Comissão dos Assuntos Constitucionais.

A legislatura 2014-2019 centrar-se-á nos aspetos institucionais que determinam o futuro da UE. Continuaremos a avaliar a execução das inovações introduzidas pelo Tratado de Lisboa e utilizaremos esta avaliação como base para novos avanços. A avaliação das medidas adotadas após a crise de 2008 permitir-nos-á igualmente determinar se é necessária uma nova reforma do Tratado. Essa reforma teria um duplo objetivo: integrar, no quadro jurídico da UE, as disposições do Tratado intergovernamental sobre Estabilidade, Coordenação e Governação na União Económica e Monetária, o que pode requerer alterações ao Tratado, e conferir legitimidade democrática à governação económica da área do euro. Um dos desafios que enfrentaremos será o de velar por que uma maior integração da área do euro não comprometa a integridade da UE.
