Next TRAN meeting

The next TRAN meeting will take place on Tuesday 22 July from 11:00 to 18:30 in Brussels in JAN 6Q2 (József Antall building). The meeting will be webstreamed.

Presentation by Vice-President Kallas

The Commissioner for Mobility and Transport, Mr Siim Kallas, will welcome the new Members and present the Commission's priority files for the coming months in the next TRAN Committee meeting on 22.07.14.

   
Budget 2015

The Rapporteur's priorities for the 2015 budget include the smooth running of CEF and TEN-T programmes, with investments focused on projects with high European added value; financial support for the creation and effective functioning of a Single European railway area; the NAIDAES programme; and research funding, including SESAR. 
 
Mr Roberts Zīle will present his draft opinion in the next TRAN Committee meeting on 22.07.14.

   
Selection decisions following the 2013 TEN-T Call for Proposals (2007-2013)

The TEN-T Calls for Proposals (Multi-Annual and Annual) make €350 million available to finance European transport infrastructure projects in all transport modes – air, rail, road, and maritime/ inland waterways – plus logistics and intelligent transport systems, and all EU Member States
 
The Commission will present the selection decisions following the 2013 TEN-T call for proposals in the next TRAN Committee meeting on 22.07.14

   
Michael Cramer elected chair of the TRAN Committee

Michael Cramer (Greens/EFA, DE) is the new chair of the TRAN Committee, elected by acclamation on 07.07.14. During its constituent meeting, the Committee has also elected its vice-chairs Dominique Riquet (ALDE, FR), Dieter-Lebrecht Koch (EPP, DE), Tomasz Piotr Poręba (ECR, PL), and István Ujhelyi (S&D, HU). Together, the chair and vice-chairs make up the bureau of the Committee, elected for a two-and-a-half year term.
 
The first meeting of the TRAN Committee will take place on 22.07.14.

After the election of a President, Vice-Presidents and Quaestors of the European Parliament in Strasbourg last week, parliamentary committees convened on Monday in Brussels to elect chairpersons and their deputies for next two and a half years.

Esta comissão tem competência em matéria de:
 
1. desenvolvimento de uma política comum para os transportes ferroviários, rodoviários e por via navegável, bem como para os transportes marítimos e aéreos, em particular:
 
a) normas comuns aplicáveis aos transportes na União Europeia,
b) estabelecimento e desenvolvimento das redes transeuropeias no domínio das infra-estruturas de transportes,
c) prestação de serviços de transporte e relações com os países terceiros no domínio dos transportes,
d) segurança dos transportes,
e) relações com órgãos e organizações internacionais de transportes,
f) Agência Europeia da Segurança Marítima, Agência Ferroviária Europeia, Agência Europeia para a Segurança da Aviação e Empresa Comum SESAR;
 
2. serviços postais;
 
3. turismo.
