EMISSIONS TRADING SYSTEM - ETS
The European Commission presented in July 2015 a legislative proposal to revise the EU emissions trading system for the period after 2020. The reform is the first step in delivering on the EU's target to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by at least 40% domestically by 2030 in line with the 2030 climate and energy policy framework and as part of its contribution to the new global climate deal. The proposal will be analysed by several experts and discussed with the Members of the ENVI Committee.
Due to heightened security level, there will be no registration process for outside participants. We recommend that you follow the debate online as the ENVI committee meeting will be webstreamed. For those who have a badge to enter the Parliament premises, please be aware that seats will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
