INTA Committee vote on negotiations for a plurilateral agreement on services

The Committee on International Trade will vote on a resolution setting its expectations for the negotiations for a plurilateral agreement on trade in services on 28.05.13. This agreement can potentially increase services trade between the EU and its developed trading partners and lower regulatory barriers, but it could also go counter to the WTO's General Agreement on Trade in Services.

IMCO Committee vote on online gambling in the internal market

The Committee on Internal Market and Consumer Protection will vote on the non-legislative report on online gambling, mainly focusing on consumer protection, administrative cooperation and follow-up of open infringement proceedings to ensure compliance with EU law. The meeting will take place on 30.05.13 in Brussels.

The Special Committee will hold a hearing on the impact of organised crime, corruption and money laundering on the EU's Internal market on 27.05.13 in Brussels. The keynote speaker will be Commissioner for Internal Market and Services Michel Barnier. The Committee will also debate counterfeiting and product piracy as a threat to the internal market and the prevention of corruption in Bulgaria.

AFET Meetings with Ukrainian Foreign Minister and UN General Assembly President

The Foreign Minister of Ukraine, Leonid Kozhara, will meet the Committee on Foreign Affairs in Brussels on 27.05.13. On the same day, the Committee will also hold a discussion with the President of the 67th UN General Assembly, Vuk Jeremić.
