Predstavitve

Odbor lahko organizira predstavitve s strokovnjaki, če so potrebne za delo odbora v zvezi z določeno temo. Predstavitve lahko skupaj pripravita dva ali več odborov. Večina odborov organizira redne predstavitve, saj na njih lahko prisluhnejo strokovnjakom in z njimi razpravljajo o pomembnih vprašanjih. Na tej strani so vse razpoložljive informacije o predstavitvah v odborih, tudi programi in prispevki sodelujočih.

On Tuesday, 23 January 2024 a joint hearing on “The European Union’s Strategy in the Sahel” will be organised by the Committee on Foreign Affairs, the Committee on Development and the Sub-Committee on Security and Defence. It will be an opportunity to critically reflect on the EU's policy and approach towards this important region in light of recent coup d’états.

AFER Hearing on Sanctions

On 27 November 2023, the Committee on Foreign Affairs will hold a hearing on “EU sanctions regime - implementation, expansion, efficiency and deterring impact”. Sanctions have become a prominent foreign policy tool for both governments and international organisations, including the EU.

Syria on the map

On 23 October 2023, the Committee on Foreign Affairs and the Subcommittee on Security and Defence will hold a hearing on "The situation in Syria 12 years after the revolution: Standstill, Dynamics, EU response, and Future Prospects?". It will provide a reflection on the political, social and economic consequences of the ongoing conflict, which has shaped the country's development in the twelve years since the Revolution.

This hearing served to prepare the joint report on “Implementation of the Neighbourhood, Development and International Cooperation Instrument (NDICI) – Global Europe", two years since the beginning of the MFF 2021-2027 and the entry into force of the regulation.

On 3 July, AFET and DEVE Committees are organising a hearing on “Implementation of the Neighbourhood, Development and International Cooperation Instrument (NDICI) – Global Europe". This hearing will serve to prepare a joint report, two years since the beginning of the MFF 2021-2027 and the entry into force of the regulation.

On 27 June 2023, the Committee on Foreign Affairs will hold a hearing on the "EU's preventive diplomacy - practise makes (not yet) perfect". Members will discuss with three expert speakers what aspects are still missing in EU's foreign policy to successfully carry out preventive diplomacy.

On 15 February 2023, the revelations concerning the "Jorge Team Files" were put out by the network of investigative journalists, Forbidden Stories. Their investigation describe the activities of private firms in orchestrating disinformation campaigns at large scale, including manipulations operations ahead to elections.

European Union and UK

On 25 May 2023, the Committee on Foreign Affairs and the Committee on International Trade will hold a hearing on the implementation of the EU-UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement that has been in force since 1 May 2021. Members will discuss with four expert speakers how unprecedented arrangements with a third country have been implemented so far.

AFET Hearing

On 24 May 2023, the Committee on Foreign Affairs will hold a hearing on the EU relations with Latin America, a region of strategic importance for the EU with long-standing history of shared common values and cultures. In the recent past the relations have faced some hurdles, which have enabled other global actors such as Russia and China to step in and promote their agendas.

Hearing on Ukraine

On 26 April 2023, the Committee on Foreign Affairs will hold a hearing on the Recovery, Reconstruction and Resilience of Ukraine: assessing the feasibility of a Marshall Plan-style facility and of enhanced coordination of defence related support. Since the beginning of Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine, the EU has provided considerable support to Ukraine.

Hearing on Taiwan Strait

On 22 March 2023, the Committee on Foreign Affairs held a hearing on the situation in the Taiwan Strait. The hearing focused both on domestic developments in Taiwan and on China’s policy towards Taiwan following the 20th CCP Congress in October 2022.

On 26 January a joint hearing on "Recent Cases of Foreign Interference in the European Parliament - Allegations of Corruption" will take place from 14.00 to 17.00. It will be organised by the Special Committee on Foreign Interference (ING2), jointly with the Committee on Foreign Affairs (AFET) and the Subcommittee on Security and Defence (SEDE).
