on 22 January 2015, INTA Members listened to the presentation of Mr Jörg Wuttke, the President of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China (EUCCC).
The EUCCC was founded in 2000 by 51 member companies that shared a goal of establishing a common voice for the various business sectors of the European Union and European businesses operating in China. It is a members-driven, non-profit, fee-based organisation representing European business in China. The European Chamber now has more than 1,800members in 7 chapters operating in 10 cities: Beijing, Chengdu, Chongqing, Nanjing, South China (Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Zhuhai), Shanghai, Shenyang and Tianjin. The Chamber is recognised by the European Commission and the Chinese Authorities as the official voice of European business in China.
Investor protection, including investor-to-state disputes, and regulatory aspects in the forthcoming Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) will be discussed on Tuesday, at a joint hearing with the trade and legal affairs committees. (Preberite več)

The EU Commission’s publication of legal texts proposed by the EU for eight chapters of the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) deal was thanks to the European Parliament’s continuous and persistent demands for transparency, noted EP Trade Committee chair Bernd Lange (S&D, DE) on Wednesday. Mr Lange welcomed the publication as an “important first step towards a public debate based on facts rather than speculation”. (Preberite več)

Evropski parlament ima od začetka izvajanja Lizbonske pogodbe odločilno vlogo pri opredeljevanju trgovinske politike Unije, deluje pa tudi kot njena demokratična vest. To je še posebej pomembno, saj je mogoče začeti trgovinsko zakonodajo in mednarodne trgovinske sporazume izvajati le s privolitvijo EP.
Verjamem, da bo ta spletna stran služila kot učinkovit vir informacij in orodje za raziskovalno delo, evropskim državljanom pa bo omogočila boljše razumevanje dela odbora INTA in postopkov, pa tudi trgovinske politike Unije na splošno.
