The 11th EuroLat Plenary Session took place between 17 and 20 September 2018 in the Imperial Palace in Vienna under Co-Presidents Deputy Elias Castillo (President of the Latin American Parliament) and MEP Ramón Jáuregui Atondo.

Resolutions were adopted on:

- Restructuring Sovereign Debt
- Justice and combating impunity
- EU-LAC cooperation in the field of aviation and air safety and security
- Illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing
- Criteria for the allocation of official development aid to middle-income countries
- Governing Globalisation
- Forced disappearance of minors in the European Union and Latin America and the Caribbean
- Tackling inequality through social cohesion policies in Latin America and Europe
- Corporate social responsibility in the EU and in Latin American and Caribbean countries
- Territorial cohesion and trans-border coordination policies in the EU and Latin America
- Effectively implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development at the local level
- Towards an EU-CELAC Common Research Area

The EuroLat Assembly held its 'Meetings of the Standing Parliamentary Committees' in Panama City, Panama, from 3 to 6 April 2018.

During the four-day meeting, the four EuroLat committees voted on the following five reports:

Political Affairs Committee:
'Justice and combating impunity' and 'EU-LAC cooperation in the field of aviation and air safety'.

Social Affairs Committee:
'Corporate social responsibility' and 'Tackling inequality through social cohesion policies in the EU and LAC countries'.

Sustainable Development Committee:
'Towards an EU-CELAC Common Research Area'

In addition, the committees discussed a wide range of topics, among them the regulation of lobbying activities, criteria for the allocation of official development aid to middle-income countries, digital platforms in the modern economy, the forced disappearance of minors, inequality in LAC countries, the Agenda 2030 and the circular economy.

In their meeting with civil society, EuroLat members discussed criminal justice in EU and the LAC countries and how to ensure fair trials. The Working Group on Security, Organised and Transnational Crime and Terrorism held an exchange of views on financial crime among other topics. The Women's Forum debated a series of issues linked to the situation of women in Panama and Central America and presented the conclusion of the Women's Forum conference held in Brussels on 19 March 2018.

The 10th plenary session of the EuroLat Parliamentary Assembly was held from 18 to 21 September 2017 in San Salvador (El Salvador) under Co-Presidents Senator Roberto Requião and Ramón Jáuregui Atondo MEP.

Resolutions were adopted on:
  • Trafficking of small and light weapons
  • The Negotiations on the proposed Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) and the proposed Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) on EU and LAC trade policies
  • The future of multilateralism post-Nairobi
  • Food price volatility and food reserves in the EU and Latin America
  • Informal and undeclared work in the EU and LAC countries

The Co-Presidents issued the "San Salvador Declaration" on 21 September 2017.

After last year's Plenary in Montevideo in September, the first set of meetings in 2017 of the 4 EuroLat Standing Committees, Executive Bureau, Working Group on Security as well as the EuroLat-Civil Society meeting, Women Forum and EP-LAC political families took place in Florence, Italy, on 22-24 May 2017.

The Inaugural Joint Session took place on 23 May in the Palazzo Vecchio with the participation of the Mayor of Florence, Mr Dario Nardella, EP President Tajani and the two EuroLat Co-Presidents.

Working Group on Security, Organised and Transnational Crime and Terrorism

As decided by the Executive Bureau in Montevideo (September 2016) the new Working Group on Security, Organised and Transnational Crime and Terrorism held its constituent meeting and elected its Co-Presidents, Mr Agustin Diaz de Mera (EPP, Spain) and Mr Juan Carlos Restrepo (Parlandino, Colombia), and 5 more Members from each component. Two working documents on the fight against organised crime in EU and LAC were presented by the co-rapporteurs Mr Francisco Assis (S&D, PT) and Mr Juan Carlos Restrepo (Parlandino, Colombia).

The 9th plenary session of the EuroLat Parliamentary Assembly was held from 19 to 22 September 2016 at the Legislative Palace in Montevideo, Uruguay, under Co-Presidents Senator Roberto Requião and Ramón Jáuregui Atondo MEP.

Resolutions were adopted on:
  • Digital Agenda in the EU and the LAC countries
  • Combating poverty as part of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development
  • Financing of political parties in the European Union and Latin America
  • Economic and financial relations with the People's Republic of China from the perspective of the EU-LAC Bi-regional Strategic Partnership
  • Trade aspects of the various EU-LAC negotiations currently being conducted
  • Opportunities and challenges of shale gas in Latin American and Caribbean countries (LAC) and EU Member States.

A recommendation was adopted on:

  • Migration, development and the economic crisis.

The Co-Presidents issued the "Montevideo Declaration" on 21 September 2016.

After the 8th Plenary in Brussels in June 2015, the first set of meetings in 2016 of the 4 EuroLat Standing Committees, Executive Bureau, Working Group on Migration as well as the EuroLat-Civil Society meeting, Women's Forum and EP-LAC political families took place in Lisbon, Portugal, on 16-18 May 2016.

The Inaugural Joint Session took place on 17 May 2016 in the Portuguese Assembly of the Republic with the participation of the country's highest authorities in the executive and legislative, the Portuguese Prime Minister, Mr António Costa and the Speaker of the Assembly, Mr Eduardo Ferro Rodrigues. The President of the Republic, Mr Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, also received both EuroLat Co-presidents for an intense one-hour bilateral meeting at the Presidential Palace.

The following three resolutions were adopted in committees:
  • Financing political parties in the EU and Latin America
  • Combating poverty as part of goals for sustainable development beyond 2015
  • Opportunities and challenges of shale gas in Latin American and Caribbean countries (LAC) and EU Member States

Furthermore, a Joint Lisbon Declaration was issued by the Co-Presidents.
