The meeting was dedicated to an exchange of views on the mission report and debriefing on the outcome of the 22nd EU-New Zealand Inter-Parliamentary Meeting that took place on 13-15 February in New Zealand. The European Parliament's Delegation for Relations with Australia and New Zealand (DANZ) chaired by Ms Ulrike Müller (ALDE) visited New Zealand and met with their counterparts from the New Zealand's House of Parliament, Government representatives and other stakeholders. Mr David Taylor, Ambassador of New Zealand also attended the meeting on 14 March.

Meeting of 19 October 2017, Brussels

There was an exchange of views on bilateral trade relations between the EU, Australia and New Zealand and on global trade governance with Mr Erik van der Marel, senior trade expert at the European Center for International Political Economy.

Meeting of 18 May 2017, Strasbourg

The meeting was dedicated to an exchange of views on human rights issues in Australia with H.E. Mr Angus Mackenzie, Ambassador and Permanent Delegate of Australia to UNESCO, and representatives from the EEAS.

Exchange of views on the role of the Pacific Islands Forum in the immediate neighhbourhood of Australia and New Zealand, with:
  • Mr Stefan Forester (EEAS).

Meeting of 9 March 2016, Strasbourg

The Chair de-briefed on the different meetings held in Canberra on 9 and 10 February and in Perth on 11 February. He ended his presentation with the proposal that next year's IPM to New Zealand should be combined with a 2-day-stopover in Canberra in order to establish fruitful contacts with the new Australian Parliament very likely to be elected in the second half of this year.
