Inter-parliamentary meetings

The Bureau of the EU-Turkey Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) met in Strasbourg on 16 January 2019.
The Members of the Bureau considered the draft agenda for the 79th EU-Turkey JPC meeting due to be held in the premises of the European Parliament in Brussels on 18 February 2019

The 78th meeting of the EU-Turkey Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) was held on 19-20 December 2018, in Ankara, with Manolis KEFALOGIANNIS, MEP, and İsmail Emrah KARAYEL, Member of the Turkish parliament, as Co-Chairs.

Topics of discussion included:

1. EU-Turkey relations and state of play of the accession negotiations,

2. Economic cooperation between Turkey and the EU,

3. Security challenges.

The minutes of the meeting will be adopted at the 79th EU-Turkey JPC.

The 77th meeting of the EU-Turkey Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) was held on 26 April 2018, in Brussels, with Manolis KEFALOGIANNIS, MEP, and İsmail Emrah KARAYEL, Member of the Turkish parliament, as Co-Chairs.

Topics of discussion included:

1. EU-Turkey relations and state of play of the accession negotiations,

2. EU-Turkey economic cooperation,

3. Security challenges.

The 76th meeting of the EU-Turkey Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) was held on 19-20 March 2015, in Ankara, with Manolis KEFALOGIANNIS, MEP, and Afif DEMIRKIRAN, Member of the Turkish parliament, as Co-Chairs.

Topics of discussion included:

• EU-Turkey Relations and State of Play of the Accession Negotiations,
• Fight against racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia and all other forms of discrimination,
  
• Freedom of media,
  
• Combating terrorism,
  
• EU-Turkey Customs Union, Free Trade Agreements and the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP),
• EU-Turkey foreign policy cooperation.

The Bureau of the EU-Turkey Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) met in Istanbul on 2 November 2018.

The Members of the Bureau considered the draft agenda for the 78th EU-Turkey JPC meeting due to be held in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey in Ankara on 19-20 December.
