2nd EU-Nordic Council Inter-parliamentary meeting, Strasbourg, 19 April 2023
Second formal EU-Nordic Council Inter-parliamentary meeting was held on the 19th April 2023 in Strasbourg. Nordic Council is a close partner and a like-minded ally in the international arena that strives to protect the universal values, such as rules based global world order, democracy and fight against the climate change.
Discussions focused on Russia's War in Ukraine and its impact on Nordic Security, Net-zero industry act, Fighting Antimicrobial resistance (AMR), 3023 being European Year of Skills. Vice-President Hautala also gave feedback from Indigenous Sami people Summit hosted by the EP in Brussels on 22-24 March 2023.

The in-person delegation of the European Parliament consisted of three Members of the DEEA and was led by Ms Christel SCHALDEMOSE, the DEEA Vice Chair in charge of the Iceland Working Group. The Nordic Council was represented by its President Mr Erkki TUOMIOJA, the Vice-President Ms Lulu RANNE, Ms Lorena DELGADO, Ms Oddný Harðardóttir (Members of the Presidium) and Mr Magnus EK.

The European Parliament is regularly invited to the Annual Sessions of the Nordic Council and is represented by the Chair or a Vice Chair of the DEEA.
Annual Sessions of the Nordic Council
The Chair of the D-EEA represents the European Parliament at the annual sessions of the Nordic Council.
During the previous, 8th parliamentary term, the EP was represented at the following sessions:
- 67th Session in Reykjavik, 27-29 October 2015
- 68th Session in Copenhagen, 1-3 November 2016
- 69th Session in Helsinki, 31 October-2 November 2017
- 70th Session in Oslo, 30 October-1 November 2018
