An exchange of views was held on the situation of children in Syria, Jordan and Lebanon, with:

Meeting of 27 February 2017, Brussels

The Delegation Chair expressed her satisfaction with the good attendance of the meeting. She acknowledged that this meeting has brought about some debate.

An exchange of views was held on the outcome of the Astana conference on Syria, brokered by Russia, Turkey and Iran and the identification of common ground on the post-conflict arrangements for Syria, with:

Meeting of 26 October 2016, Strasbourg

The meeting included:
  1. The Chair's announcement that the delegation's mission to Cairo will take place on 30 October to 3rd November.

  2. An exchange of views on the current political, military and humanitarian situation in Syria and the perspectives for a political solution, with:
  • Mr Moises Venancio, from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), New York,
  • Professor Rudolf El-Kareh, Sociologist and political scientist, specialist in the Middle East and the Euro-Arab Relations
  • Mr Sheruan Hassan, Rojava Democratic Union Party (PYD), representative of the administration in Benelux.

An exchange of views was held on the "Cultural heritage crises in Syria after the liberalisation of Palmyra from IS occupation", with:

  • Yves Ubelmann, ICONEM, Digital Architect for cultural heritage, Paris.

Meeting of 16 June 2016, Brussels

The Chair proposed postponing the mission to Jordan to early next year, given that general elections in Jordan were scheduled for 20 September 2016, but maintaining the part on Egypt as initially planned. All present Members approved this suggestion.

An exchange of views was held on the political role of Jordan and Lebanon in the Middle East region while coping with a tremendous refugee influx from Syria and Iraq.

Meeting of 28 April 2016, Bruxelles

An exchange of views was held on the recent situation in Syria and the Geneva talks in the presence of:
  • Mr. Anis Nacrour, Chargé d'Affaires of EU Delegation to Syria.
The meeting was convened on short notice.

The chair announced the cancellation of the next formal DMAS Meeting scheduled for 12 May 2016 in Strasbourg.
