Motion for a European Parliament resolution on the United Kingdom’s activation of the procedure for withdrawing from the European Union
The European Parliament,
– having regard to Rule 133 of its Rules of Procedure,
A. whereas the EU institutions are exerting constant pressure on the United Kingdom to activate Article 50 of the Treaty on European Union;
1. Points out that the United Kingdom is a sovereign state, which will take its own decision on triggering the withdrawal procedure when the time is right;
2. Asks all the EU institutions to respect the sovereign will of the British people and to desist from all forms of interference in the UK’s internal and external affairs.
