B8-1189/2016

Motion for a European Parliament resolution on integrating refugees into the labour market

The European Parliament,

–  having regard to Rule 133 of its Rules of Procedure,

A.  whereas Europe is currently faced with the greatest movement of migrants since the Second World War;

B.  whereas asylum-seeking refugees need to be integrated into EU countries;

C.  whereas the integration and inclusion of refugees is often a delicate subject which encompasses asylum policies, international defence, the labour market and the issue of discrimination;

D.  whereas EU policies are fragmented and the competence of the EU itself in a number of fields appears to be rather limited, with conditions governing the access of refugees to labour markets which vary from country to country;

1.  Calls on the Commission to develop a project to enable refugees to be integrated into all Member States.
