Social entrepreneurship and social innovation in combating unemployment - Creating a competitive EU labour market for the 21st century - Precarious employment (debate)
Valdis Dombrovskis,Vice-President of the Commission.– Mr President, first of all I would like to thank the Members of the European Parliament for this very interesting debate despite the late hour.
I can assure you that from the Commission’s point of view we are ready to promote all measures at EU level which may contribute to fostering quality and socially innovative jobs and ensure appropriate protection and skills development for all workers in the EU. It is essential to work hand in hand with the Member States and with social partners towards achieving these goals, thus ensuring a sustainable recovery, economic growth and social progress.
I wish to thank in particular the rapporteurs Ms Lope Fontagné and Ms Dlabajová for their important contributions. The Commission looks forward to continuing to work with Parliament on all those topics.
