European Semester for economic policy coordination: implementation of 2015 priorities - Steps towards completing the Economic and Monetary Union (debate)

Tim Aker (EFDD), blue-card question. Thank you for your contribution. Two quick questions: the first is, you talk about new economic instruments. How about the best economic instrument this Parliament and this Union can promote? Ditch the euro. Let currencies devalue, decouple, and actually start growth again. You also talked about democracy. I would like to know your views on the ‘coup d’état’ in Portugal, where a democratically—elected parliament was overruled by a president who decreed that the European Union and the euro zone were more important than the wishes of the Portuguese people. What are your views on that?
