Extension of the term of office of the Chairperson of the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA) (A8-0348/2015 - Roberto Gualtieri)

  Pavel Telička (ALDE), in writing. ‒ I endorsed the extension of the term of office of the Chairperson of the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA). Mr Gabriel Bernardino was appointed as the first Chairperson of the EIOPA in 2011 and in September 2015, the Board of Supervisors of the EIOPA proposed to prolong his term by another five years. Prior to his current role, Mr Bernardino was the Director General of the Directorate for Development and Institutional Relations at the Instituto de Seguros de Portugal (ISP). He holds a Masters degree in statistics and optimisation, Universidade Nova de Lisboa.
