Establishment of a European Platform to enhance cooperation in the prevention and deterrence of undeclared work (A8-0172/2015 - Georgi Pirinski)

Philippe De Backer (ALDE), in writing. I voted in favour of this resolution because undeclared work can lay a heavy burden on tax incomes and social security revenues. It creates unfair competition between those that abide by the rules and those that do not. I believe that for a free and single European market to function we need to ensure that workers have an adequate level of protection wherever they are employed. A European Platform can be a good instrument for this problem since undeclared work has become a cross-border problem with undeclared workers moving back and forth between Member States, ultimately even undermining the fundamental right of free movement.
