  Marlene Mizzi (S&D), in writing. ‒ Local and regional authorities play a very important role within the framework of the European Structural and Investment Funds as they are close to citizens and best understand their needs. On the other hand - due to their limited means - they are in need of budgetary support for co-financement of projects. Therefore, I voted in favour of the Resolution on the role of local and regional authorities in the European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF).
