Daciana Octavia Sârbu (S&D), in writing. ‒ The original PMI agreement played an important role in compensating for lost revenue and fighting the trade in illicit tobacco. However, the arrangement is now outdated and does not take account of more recent developments, such as the availability of unbranded products, the so-called ‘cheap whites’, and the new provisions in the Tobacco Products Directive. This changed environment calls for new solutions.
